What is a Queen of Hearts raffle?
A progressive raffle. Players buy tickets and select a numbered card on a board of 54 face-down cards. If the drawn ticket’s card is the Queen of Hearts, that player wins the jackpot. If not, they win a smaller weekly prize and the jackpot keeps growing.
Can I play Queen of Hearts online?
Yes, if the organization running it sells tickets online. Use the link they shared to check the board, buy tickets and select your card.
Can more than one person select the same card?
Yes. Many players can put tickets on the same number. Only the drawn ticket’s card is revealed.
What happens if the Queen isn’t drawn?
The revealed card stays face up, the weekly winner gets the smaller prize, and the jackpot rolls over to the next drawing.
How long does a Queen of Hearts raffle last?
Until the Queen is found. That can be the first week or more than a year.
What are the jokers for?
Your rules decide. Some organizations treat a joker like any other card, some pay a bonus, and some reset the board while the jackpot keeps growing.
How is the jackpot split?
That’s set by your rules and often by your state. A common setup sends part of each week’s sales to the weekly winner, part to the jackpot and the rest to your organization.
Is an online Queen of Hearts raffle legal?
It depends on your state, and we can’t tell you for sure. Some states treat Queen of Hearts differently from a regular fundraising raffle, and many make no distinction. Check with your state’s gaming or charitable gaming office before you sell tickets. This is not legal advice.
Is the drawing fair?
Yes. The board is encrypted, so card positions are hidden from everyone, including us. A winning ticket is drawn at random, then the card assigned to that ticket is decrypted and revealed, and it’s out of play for every drawing after that.
Can we still sell tickets in person?
Yes. Cash and check sales at your post or hall go into the same drawing as online sales.
